Civil War Battle, Sept. 11-13
Greetings, and felicitations, from the Mason City Civil War re-enactment. Never, in four years of bloody conflict, would we have thought of influenza putting citizens into their houses, and placing provost on public meetings. In the Civil War, misunderstanding hygiene took a great toll on our fighting men. The present pandemic calls for washing hands four times daily with emphasis on doing the fourth wash, and at any time inclined to do so. Handwashing keeps the virus army down in numbers so that any getting in are mopped up by our internal body defenses. Hello to Greene and Lake Mills areas, with general orders to all citizens for good things, and safety under these strange “situationals.” Mason City Annual Civil War Battle and Encampment event Sept. 11-13—Covid permitting. Be aware. Stay safe.
