Dress A Girl Around the World would like to welcome the public to an Open House at their new headquarters in Forest City. The Open House will be held Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The new office is located at 35989 Hwy. 69, on the north side of Forest City.
Dress a Girl Around the World is a campaign under Hope 4 Women International, bringing dignity to women around the world since 2006. Hope 4 Women International is a nondenominational, independent, Christian organization whose dream for the world is for every girl to have at least one new dress. They want girls to know that they are worthy of respect, and that they are loved by God. To date, the organization has delivered over one and a half million to 81 countries.
“I would like to encourage anyone who likes to sew, knit and crochet to come in for our Open House and learn more about this wonderful cause. We meet every Tuesday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and call it our Volunteer Day,” said Rachel Eggum-Cinader, manager of the Forest City headquarters. Activities include preparing sewing kits to mail out, process incoming newly made dresses to be sent to less fortunate children around the world, cut fabric from patterns and sew dresses. Being an experienced sewer is not necessary, as there are lots of other important jobs that do not require sewing.
“We also host Hope 4 Healing, which is a Prayer Shawl Ministry where women knit or crochet at the headquarters or take knitted or crocheted prayer shawls. Again, it is not necessary to know how to knit or crochet. Being involved with an opportunity will be self-rewarding through blessing others in need of prayer,” commented Rachel.
