Senator Dennis Guth Announces Re-Election Bid

Senator Dennis Guth, R-Klemme, announces his re-election bid for Iowa Senate District 4, which includes five counties: Hancock, Kossuth, Winnebago, Wright and Worth.
First elected to the Senate in 2012, Senator Guth has been an advocate for promoting less regulation, discouraging unfunded mandates and pushing for smaller government. He also has been a strong supporter of the original intent of the Constitution.
Senator Guth serves on the Economic Growth, Local Government, Rules and Administration, and Administration and Regulation Appropriations Subcommittee. In his first term, he has consistently voted against micromanagement, overspending, and the erosion of our personal liberties.
“It has been an honor and a rewarding experience to work for the people of District 4,” Senator Guth said. “I am blessed with the support of my constituents these past four years. It has been my greatest satisfaction to serve and assist constituents in the things that matter most to them. I will continue to stand strong for traditional families, defend the unborn, and protect our freedom of religion as well as the right to bear arms.
“My perspective as a farmer and business owner helps me consider how a law affects Iowans for the next 50 years rather than just for the short term. I want to continue providing that balanced perspective that studies both cost and benefit based on dollars and the liberties we give up with each law we pass. He believes government should encourage entrepreneurs, the creation of jobs, and protect its citizens and their liberties while keeping its involvement to a minimum in the daily lives of Iowans.
Senator Guth has served on various boards in his local community and area agricultural organizations. He was also part of LUV (Let Us Vote), an Iowa grassroots organization. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Mechanization from Iowa State University. He and his wife, Margaret, are active members of the Evangelical Free Church in Britt where he served as elder prior to his election. They reside on their farm in Klemme.
