VanHeiden honored for dedication to Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa is pleased to announce OnaLee VanHeiden, Lake Mills, as a recipient of the Volunteer of Excellence Award.
VanHeiden, who helps lead 10 different troops and also manages Service Unit 239, was recognized at GSGI’s annual, state-wide Circle of Excellence held recently at the Gateway Hotel Conference Center, Ames.
Award recipients are nominated by parents, girls and volunteers. VanHeiden was presented her award by GSGI Chief Executive Officer Beth Shelton. The Volunteer of Excellence Award recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service, while partnering directly with girls to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, or who have contributed outstanding service in support of GSGI’s mission delivery to girl and adult members.
OnaLee’s dedication to empowering girls to become women of courage, confidence, and character is truly inspiring.
