Alma G. Gravley
Alma G. Gravley, 100, Lake Mills, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 at the Lake Mills Care Center. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, at West Cemetery, Rake, with Pastor Kevin Olson officiating. Visitation for Alma will be Thursday, Nov. 11, from 1-3 p.m. at Schott Funeral Homes-Mittelstadt Chapel, Lake Mills. Memorials may be directed to Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, Joice.
Alma G. (Herem) Gravley was born June 14, 1921 at Rake, the daughter of Jacob and Ragnhild (Bakka) Herem.
She was united in marriage with Richard M. Gravley on June 27, 1939 at Liberty Lutheran Church, Rake, by Pastor Okerlund. This union was blessed with five children, many grandchildren, great- and great-great grandchildren.
Alma enjoyed being a farm wife, having a garden and raising her children. She was a long-time member of Liberty Lutheran Church where she enjoyed Ladies Aid, teaching Sunday school and participating in Bible study.
In 1997, Alma and Richard moved to Lake Mills and began attending worship at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, south of Joice. She moved into Mills Harbour in April of 2016, and into the Lake Mills Care Center in November of 2018.
Alma is survived by four children: Richard (Ginny) Gravley, Minot, N.D.; Katherine Magee, Lincoln, Neb.; Margaret (Dave) Murra, Lake Mills; and John Gravley, Roseville, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many extended relatives, friends and her church family.
