Beverly A. Florence
erly of Lake Mills, passed away at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood, Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 after a long battle with dementia. Per Beverly’s wishes, no formal services will be held. If you would like to make a donation, memorials may be given to the Lutheran Retirement Home.
Beverly Ann Florence was born on Halloween, Oct. 31, 1934 in Henry County, to parents Earl and Bonnie (Giberson) Leeper. She attended school in Rock Falls. Beverly had four children: Mike, Deb, Larry, and Jason.
Early on, Beverly worked many jobs to provide for her family. Some notable jobs she had were working at: Watkins Locker, Suzie Q’s Café, Maid Rite (Grand Café), Arrowhead Golf Course, Dusty’s Bar, and the Twilight Inn. She also delivered motorhomes for Winnebago when she could. For 20 years, Beverly worked at Fleetgaard until her retirement. Following her retirement, she drove the transit bus for the city of Lake Mills for many years.
Beverly loved to socialize, you could often find her having coffee at The Grand or Don’s Motor Mart with friends. She spent her free time gardening, reading, taking care of her many pets, knitting and crocheting making many scarves and blankets throughout the years.
Beverly is survived by her children: Mike Florence, Mason City; Deb (Doug) Smith, Clear Lake; Larry Florence, Lake Mills; and Jason (Melissa) Florence, Waterloo; grandchildren: Heather Florence, Tony Florence, Cody Wright, and Macy Wright; siblings: Betty (Al) Suchy, Osage; and Earl Leeper Jr., Plymouth; as well as many extended relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bonnie Leeper; and an infant granddaughter, Jennifer Prescott.
