Carmen B. Tweed
Carmen B. Tweed, age 80, of Lake Mills, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Lake Mills Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at the Lake Mills Evangelical Synod Lutheran Church with Pastor David Emmons officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, January 18, at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main St. in Lake Mills, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place at Scarville Evangelical Synod Cemetery in rural Scarville.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or Lake Mills Evangelical Synod Lutheran Church.
Carmen Bernice (Albertson) Tweed was born on June 26, 1935, in Winnebago County to Merle and Thelma (Brustad) Albertson. She attended school at Scarville and graduated in 1953.
She was united in marriage to Arlen Tweed on October 25, 1953 at Scarville Evangelical Synod Lutheran Church. To this union six children were born, Cynthia, Barbara, Wendy, Craig, Arlen Jr. and Chad. Carmen and Arlen made their home in Lake Mills. Carmen worked at Fleetguard for 35 plus years while also selling Avon for 35 years. After retirement they moved to Bella Vista, AR. After Arlen passed away Carmen moved back to Lake Mills to be near her family.
In their early years Carmen and Arlen enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and watching their children and grandchildren participate in sporting events.
Carmen was an active member in her church including serving as an officer for her ladies aid organization.
Survivors include Barbara (Jack) Cox of Leland, Wendy (Randy) Gregg of Tracy, CA, Craig (Chris) Tweed of Lake Mills, Arlen Jr. (Debra) Tweed of Underwood, IA and Chad (Michelle) Tweed of Cedar Falls, IA; 14 grandchildren, Scott (Carrie) Hanson, Ross (Paula) Hanson, Brian (Krishna) Hanson, Candy (Jim) Olsen, Cory (Tracy) Cox, Renae Gregg and friend Omotayo, Cary Gregg and fiancee Mannon, Alissa Tweed, Brent (Jill) Tweed, Rachelle Tweed, Adam Tweed, Conner Tweed, Tyler Tweed and Lauryn Tweed; 16 great grandchildren; a brother Gary (Elaine) Albertson of Lake Mills; and nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arlen; parents, Merle and Thelma Albertson; daughter Cynthia; her in-laws, Melville and Inez Tweed; brother-in-law, Lewellyn Tweed and wife Vonnie; and sister-in-law Beverly Smithe and husband Jack.
