Gary A. Taylor

Gary A. Taylor, 61, Leland, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society, Forest City. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5–7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, at Schott Funeral Home, Forest City. A private family inurnment will happen at a later date. Out of respect for the safety and consideration to the family, masks will be required to attend.
Gary Allen Taylor was born Feb. 18, 1960 in Forest City, the son of Esther Kirschbaum and stepfather, Dennis Taylor. After graduating high school, Gary worked for a local tree service for a few years, then K&C Electric for a couple more years. Gary spent 37 years working for Winnebago Industries in the Capco division. He worked there until his health forced him to retire.
Gary enjoyed many things in life—fishing, hunting, gardening, four-wheeling, and helping others were things Gary found enjoyable. More than anything, Gary cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather. When the kids or grandkids weren’t around, Izzy and Bear, his two cats, would keep him company.
Those left to carry on his legacy include his children: Mandy (Shane) Smith and their children, Hailey and Kaden; daughter, Briana (Ben) Brogren and their children, Finn and Wyatt; son, Nicholas Taylor (special friend, Jessica Zamago); and stepson, Dustin Johnson; mother, Esther Kirschbaum; stepfather, Dennis Taylor; sister, Lori (Tim) Ranes and their children, Krystal (Klint) and baby Kallen Knutson, and Zach Ranes; brother, Dave Taylor (Christy Torres); as well as many loving relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and extended relatives.
