Julaine C. Albertson, 96, Forest City, peacefully passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society Forest City, under the care of St Croix Hospice.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, rural Joice, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the Ellington Township Cemetery in rural Forest City. Julaine was born at Thompson, Iowa, Jan. 20, 1928, the daughter of Osmund and Bessie (Olson) Torkelson. She was married to Charles Albertson, Nov. 25, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Forest City, and to this union three children were born. The couple farmed in the Forest City and Leland areas until Charles’ death in 2007.
Julaine loved the Lord and influenced our family with her love and witness—always a faithful prayer warrior.
Julaine is survived by children: Barb (Roger) Jacobson, Estherville; David (Sheryl) Albertson, Leland; and Joel (Tanda) Albertson, Leland; Grandchildren: Angela (Will) Pazurek, Austin, Minn.; Kara (Paul) Quam, Battle Lake, Minn.; Amber (Ben) Dahl, Moorhead, Minn.; Laurann (James) Anderson, Leland; Betsie (Dan) Feldkamp, Apple Valley, Minn.; Tisha (Scott) Thompson, Forest City; Ethan (Michelle) Albertson, Forest City; Luke (Monica) Albertson, Richfield, Minn.; and Erika (Aaron) Willey,Mankato, Minn.; 30 great-grandchildren: Brooke (Josh), Grace (Sam), Trevor, Kendra (Reggie), Joel, Tony, Gini, Ava, Derek, Cole (Brynn), Brady, Elsa, Morgan, Tamsen, Eljiah, Lee, Miread, Noelle, Olivia, Grant, Keagan, Levi, Coby, Troy, Iylah, Adrah, Tristen, Aubrey, Connor, Emma; and five great-great-grandchildren: Tallulah, Rosie, Junia, Laney, Charles. Julaine is also survived by sisters-in-law: Marian Torkelson, Bonnie Torkelson, and Linda (Will) Kesler; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 2007; parents; great-granddaughters: Marta Anderson and Louisa Feldkamp; sister/brother-in-law, Othelia and Clarence Torkelson; sister/brother-in-law, Lavina and Ingvald Askeland; brother/sister-in-law, Joe and Lillian Torkelson; brother, Clifford Torkelson; sister/brother-in-law, Thelma and Ingvald Sunde; sister/brother-in-law, Louise and Walter Jermeland; brother, Orrin Torkelson; sister/brother-in-law, Myrtle and Melvin Olson; infant brother, John Torkelson; brothers, John and Art Torkelson; sister/brother-in-law, Darlene and Marvin Hanna; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
