Mark Hale Cooley

November 20, 1944 – November 4, 2021

Mark Hale Cooley, 76, Scarville, quietly passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021. A gathering to celebrate Mark’s life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Lake Mills Civic Center.  All are welcome to attend.

The son of Hale and Lucielle (Bolstad) Cooley, Mark was born Nov. 20, 1944 in Forest City. He attended Lake Mills High School and lived locally in the area for his entire life.
As a young adult, he operated Mark’s Mobile Service Station, raced stock cars, worked for Winnebago Industries, and was in the recycling business. Later, he was a professional truck driver, working many years for a variety of companies, including Norsemen Trucking.
Mark is survived by his wife, Diane Cooley; two sons: Tony (Melissa) Cooley, Tucson, Ariz.; and Hale Cooley, Lake Mills. Mark always had a special relationship with his two nieces: Jill Black and Kathy Block. He loved fishing at Dahle Pond with his four grandchildren: Alexis, Grant, Evan Cooley (Tony’s children) and Zoey Cooley (Hale’s daughter).
He is preceded in death by both parents, Hale and Lucielle; and a sister, Susan Perry.
